Aqua Fitness

This class often provides a combination water workout that includes cardio conditioning and muscle strengthening exercises using a variety of equipment along with the water's natural resistance. Usually taught in a shallow pool, this type of exercise helps reduce the risk of muscle or joint injury.

Often held outdoors, these classes are designed with challenging segments of cardiovascular work, muscle conditioning, and

Brains and Balance Past 60™

Brains and Balance Past 60™ program is designed for the unique needs of active older adults who know the importance of staying mentally sharp and physically stable. Researchers no longer believe that falling or losing mental capacity are inevitable parts of the aging process. This fascinating class series operates on two premises: 1) That specific balance exercises can reduce the risk of falling and 2) that we should train the brain as we train our skeletal muscles: with progressive

Cardio

Cardiovascular fitness is an important factor in overall health. Regular cardio exercise as part of your fitness routine can help you increase energy levels, battle disease and sleep better. It can also help you lose weight or maintain a healthy weight when combined with a balanced nutrition plan. The key factor in a cardio class or workout is increasing your heart rate up. Exercises may include power walking, jogging, running, bike riding, or a variety of low- and high-impact movements that will
raise your heart rate and work up a sweat.

Cardio and Strength

This is a fitness class that combines a variety of exercises to help increase cardio endurance while strengthening muscle. The workout can be lead as an interval or circuit, or as a 1⁄2 and 1⁄2 class (half cardio, half strength).

Cardio Kickboxing

Cardio Kickboxing is a combination of dance and martial arts that will improve your endurance and cardiovascular fitness. High intensity class.

Chair Aerobics

This aerobic exercise is a safe and effective low-impact workout performed while sitting in a chair or a wheelchair. It provides a cardiovascular workout for participants who cannot stand for a prolonged amount of time or who may be new to exercise, while significantly reducing the risk of injury or a fall.

Chair Yoga

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline originating in ancient India. While stretching is certainly involved, yoga is also about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. Chair will be provided.

Circuit/Interval Training

An interval type of physical training that involves high intensity exercise alternated with rest periods is highly effective in conditioning the cardiovascular system while increasing muscle strength. Active rest between high intensity work allows the heart rate to drop, giving the participant the opportunity to recover before the next high intensity interval. These types of workouts can include a mix of cardio exercises with resistance training.

Core Conditioning

This type of class focuses on improving core strength by working the abdominals, back and gluteal muscles. The class format consists of a thorough total body warmup, core strength work, and total body final stretch. Equipment and floor work is optional. The goal of this class is to activate and re-engage core muscles to improve daily endurance, improve posture and prevent injury.

Dance – Ballroom

Dance - Latin

Latin dance is a fast-paced, often exciting, partner dance characterized by hip movements that will help increase range of movement. However, hip movements are not intentional in any of the Latin dances. The hip motion is a natural consequence of changing weight from one foot to the other.

Dance – Line Dancing

A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows without regard for the gender of the individuals, all facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time. Dance – Mambo/Salsa

Salsa is a lively, vigorous type of contemporary Latin American popular music, blending predominantly Cuban rhythms with elements of jazz, rock, and soul music. Mambo is a fast ballroom dance of Caribbean origin, rhythmically similar to the rumba and cha-cha but having a more complex pattern of steps.

Dance – Tango

Tango incorporates movements that are sometimes slow and slithery, and other times sharp and staccato, such as a quick foot flick or a sharp head snap to promenade position. Tango has the same counter clockwise flow of movement around the dance floor, but with a lesser sense of urgency in comparison to the smoother and more continuous ballroom dances.

Indoor Cycling (Spinning)

Indoor Cycling or Spinning is a group exercise class in a fitness studio with stationery bikes. The intensity of the workout is influenced by cadence (or pedal rate), resistance of the bike’s flywheel, and by the rider’s body position (seated or standing while pedaling). Participants determine their own levels of exertion while the instructor encourages and motivates class members throughout the session.

Intro Pole Walking Clinic

In the Introductory Pole Walking Clinic students will learn the history of pole walking; what incredible benefits are gained by adding poles to their walks creating motivation, inspiration and retention; the proper way to select and adjust fitness poles; and the proper techniques to use when walking with poles. Pilates

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps build flexibility and long, lean muscles. Focus is on strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. Instructors will emphasize spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing to relieve stress and allow adequate oxygen flow to muscles, developing a strong core or center (toning abdominals while strengthening the back), and improving coordination and balance. Pilates involves mat exercises and may include other props (small weighted balls, foam rollers, large exercise balls, rotating disks, and resistance bands).

R.I.P.P.E.D.

R.I.P.P.E.D. is a one stop body shock. Each season lasts 3 months where you spend the first month learning the moves, the second month shuffle the order of those moves and the third remixing different seasons together to keep you from hitting a plateau. Easily adaptable to any age and level you can modify or progress any move to get the workout YOU need. R stands for resistance where you work your biceps, triceps, and shoulders. I is for intervals, a cardio section where you bring your heart rate up and down. P is for power working your big muscles in the chest, legs, and back with resistance. The instructor will focus on all major muscle groups with a variety of different types of stretch techniques. The goal is for your body to feel better, prevent injury, and increase range of motion.

Strength and Balance

Strength and balance is important in everyday life and this class will help you improve your ability to feel strong and stable. Strength exercises may include lifting handheld weights, stretching resistive tubing and using your own body’s resistance while also using your core muscles to improve balance and stability.

Tai Chi/Qigong

Tai chi and qigong are two mind-body practices that originated in ancient China. They are often combined practices (within one class) and are appropriate for people of almost any age or condition. Tai chi is a type of low-impact and weight-bearing exercise that began as a martial art. As it developed, it took on the purpose of enhancing physical and mental health. Tai chi involves slow, gentle movements, deep breathing, and meditation. Qigong is a practice that involves a series of postures
and exercises -- including slow, circular movements -- regulated breathing, focused meditation, and self-massage.

TaijiFit™

Yo-Chi™

Yo-Chi is a mindful, barefoot fusion program where we celebrate the stability of yoga and the mobility of Tai Chi in both standing and floor-based movements in 5 minute sections of choreography with special music and no equipment other than mats. From a fitness standpoint, we choose postures and progressions in each 5 minute section to challenge the entire body, giving a total-body workout by the time the class is over.

This easy-to-follow class is a FUN workout for anyone, any age, and with any ability. Using Latin styles of music and dance, Zumba Gold class members are able to perform traditional Zumba dance moves done at a lower intensity.
